Delgado Hailed Iran Nuclear Deal and Sanctions Relief, But Now the West Frets About Increased Activity from Iranian-backed Terrorists

Antonio Delgado: “I would argue one of the more important diplomatic achievements that we’ve seen in some time” (“NY 19 Candidate Forum 5-12-18,” Clip begins 44:13)

Valatie, NY – Antonio Delgado has hailed the Iran deal as “one of the more important diplomatic achievements that we’ve seen in some time,” even though the deal provided over $100 billion in sanctions relief to the Iranian regime, which is the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism. Former Secretary of John Kerry admitted that money from the sanctions relief likely made its way into the hands of terrorists.

Now, following the arrest of an Iranian diplomat in Europe who was the mastermind of a planned bombing in France, the Washington Post reports countries in the west including France, Germany, Israel, and here in the United States are afraid that Iranian-directed and funded terrorists are planning attacks in the west.

  • “The foiled plot has sparked growing anxiety in France, Germany and several other countries, including the United States and Israel, that Iran is planning audacious terrorist attacks and has stepped up its intelligence operations around the world.” (The Washington Post, 10/12/2018)

“Antonio Delgado was effusive in his praise for the Iranian nuclear deal, which provided $100 billion in sanctions relief that made its way to regime-sponsored terrorists,” said Joe Gierut, communications director for the Faso campaign. “Now, America and our allies are concerned that Iran and its own funded terrorist groups are planning attacks here at home. Mr. Delgado’s foreign policy naiveté is stunning and reckless during a day in age where the threats we face are unique and require constant action to counter.”
