Faso Debates in Delaware Co. Debate, Absent Antonio Delgado Doesn’t Show Up

Absent Antonio Ignores Oneonta League of Women Voters, Delaware Co. Farm Bureau and Delaware Co. Chamber of Commerce

Walton, NY – John Faso joined fellow candidates Steve Greenfield of the Green Party and Independent Candidate Diane Neal on the debate stage in Walton yesterday evening as Antonio Delgado was absent at the only debate being held in either Delaware or Otsego counties.

“Antonio Delgado just moved to the district in 2017, registered to vote soon after, and then filed to run for Congress the very next day after that. His absence last night was glaring. It’s clear his priority is not representing everyone in Upstate New York. His priority is representing the out of district Democratic Socialists from New York City and Massachusetts who perform his voter contact efforts, and the national liberals who fund his campaign.

“On the other hand, John Faso laid out a record of bipartisan action and the ability to solve our nation’s biggest challenges. John has worked hard and crafted real solutions to the opioid crisis, helped veterans gain access to the benefits that they have earned, and worked to put dairy farmers in Upstate New York in a better position to succeed. These are real issues, and he was glad to discuss them with voters.” – Joe Gierut, communications director for the Faso campaign

The Oneonta League of Women Voters, Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, and the Delaware County Farm Bureau jointly hosted the debate at the Walton Theatre.
