Record, Ability to Get Things Done Among Faso’s Strengths

Kinderhook, NY — November 3, 2016 … John Faso, the Republican, Conservative, Independence and Reform candidate for Congress in the 19^th District, has earned the endorsements of the Albany Times Union and the New York Post, his campaign announced today.

In supporting Faso in editorials today, both Editorial Boards cite Faso’s record, platform and his ability to get things done.

The Post applauded Faso’s agenda and says he “understands the need to grow the economy via lower, simpler taxes and streamlined regulations,” while criticizing his opponent for being an “Occupy Wall Street backer” who is a lot less idealistic than she pretends.

The ATU says Faso would be a moderate voice in Congress who understands the value of compromise and “would not waste time on pointless party-line votes.”

Faso is running on a platform of economic growth, private-sector job creation and tax and regulatory reform. He released a comprehensive Jobs Plan earlier this year that emphasized reforming the tax code, eliminating burdensome regulations, and encouraging investment in small businesses.

Faso is running to fill the seat now held by Congressman Chris Gibson (R), who is not seeking re-election. As a member of the New York Assembly, Faso developed and pushed proposals that led to real balanced budgets – including the first reduction in state spending in decades while closing a $5 billion deficit. He championed legislation that made a difference for tens of thousands of families such as the STAR program and education and real property tax reform. A former board member of the Rockefeller Institute of Government, Faso also served for three years as a member of the Control Board that worked to fix the financial and managerial issues of the City of Buffalo and its school system.

Mr. Faso and his wife, Mary Frances, a registered nurse, are the proud parents of two children. They have lived in Kinderhook, New York, for more than three decades.
