Log Cabin Republicans Endorse John Faso for Congress
October 6, 2016

KINDERHOOK, N.Y. — October 6, 2016 … Log Cabin Republicans, the nation’s original and largest organization representing gay conservatives and allies who support fairness, freedom, and equality for all Americans, has endorsed John Faso, the Republican, Conservative, Independence and Reform candidate for Congress in the 19th District, his campaign announced today.

In endorsing Faso and others from across the United States, the Political Action Committee of the Log Cabin Republicans backed candidates who are “pro-equality Republicans with a winning message.”

“These candidates for elected office represent the future of the GOP – strong, pro-equality Republicans with a winning message and a viable path to victory in November,” Log Cabin Republicans President Gregory T. Angelo said. “LCR PAC will be working from now until Election Day to ensure these common-sense conservatives take their rightful place in the GOP congressional caucus as part of an inclusive Republican majority.”

Faso was among nine congressional candidates from across the country — including Arizona, Connecticut, California, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Maryland — who were endorsed by the organization.

“New Yorkers agree that our country is on the wrong track,” Faso said. “High taxes at home and the regulatory madness coming out of Washington continue to drive away residents and jobs. The Log Cabin Republicans recognize that the status quo isn’t working for us, and I am pleased to have earned their endorsement as we bring growth, reform and prosperity back to upstate New York.”

Faso is running on a platform of economic growth, private-sector job creation and tax and regulatory reform. He released a comprehensive Jobs Plan earlier this year that emphasized reforming the tax code, eliminating burdensome regulations, and encouraging investment in small businesses.

Faso is running to fill the seat now held by Congressman Chris Gibson (R), who is not seeking re-election. As a member of the New York Assembly, Faso developed and pushed proposals that led to real balanced budgets – including the first reduction in state spending in decades while closing a $5 billion deficit. He championed legislation that made a difference for tens of thousands of families such as the STAR program and education and real property tax reform. A former board member of the Rockefeller Institute of Government, Faso also served for three years as a member of the Control Board that worked to fix the financial and managerial issues of the City of Buffalo and its school system.

Mr. Faso and his wife, Mary Frances, a registered nurse, are the proud parents of two children. They have lived in Kinderhook, New York, for more than three decades.

John Faso (R-Kinderhook) is former Republican leader of the state Assembly and candidate for Congress in the 19th Congressional district. To learn more about Faso, visit johnfaso.com.
